    If you're just replacing the ignition switch, remove the switch retaining screw and remove the switch. If you're not replacing the ignition switch, it's not necessary to remove it now to remove the key lock cylinder.

    Use a hammer and punch to unscrew the two breakaway bolts. Knock these breakaway bolts in a counterclockwise direction to unscrew them, remove the upper clamp and detach the key lock cylinder/ignition switch assembly from the steering column assembly by pulling it straight down.
