    Remove the transaxle and release bearing from the input shaft. Pry the release lever from the ball stud and remove the lever and rubber sealing boot (5-speed models). Remove the plug and release lever shaft (6-speed models). Rotate the outer portion of the bearing while applying pressure. Replace any deformed or weak retaining clips or springs. Apply grease to the sleeve of the input shaft bearing retainer, input shaft splines, and release lever contact surfaces. Install the release bearing and secure with retaining clips (5-speed models). Insert the fork from the top until the bearing and lever tabs lock in place. Slide the release lever cross shaft into the case, aligning the slot with the roll pin. Install the cross shaft plug and tighten to the torque (6-speed models). Reinstall the transaxle.
