    Q:
How to replace the Cruise Control Switch and Hazard Warning Switch in Subaru Legacy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The instruction associated with the procedure of the removal and installation of the heater and air conditioning control assembly is appropriate for Baja, Legacy, and Outback models manufactured between 2000 and 2004. In regard to antenna knob, cruise control switch, fog light switch and windshield wiper de-icer switch, loosen the fastening of switch panel from the instrument panel, remove wiring connectors and turn off the switches by pressing the locking flap against housing. During installation, deep the switch into the panel until you hear a click, and installation is the same as the removal process. For the hazard flasher switch, first, an Instrument cluster trim panel must be removed, and the electrical connector that connects it must be disconnected, then there will be two retaining screws, they must be removed so that the switch is dismounted from the mounting bracket, and it must be placed back in the same manner, to fit perfectly. On the 2005 and later models for the illumination brightness control switch, option for incremental signals, remote control mirror switch, windshield wiper de-icer switch and for the Vehicle Dynamics Control OFF switch all these can be accessed by removing the lower cover and the connectors are located at the left extremity of the instrument panel. The hazard flasher switch is located at the radio/heater and air conditioning control assembly; excluding the console and radio is necessary before disconnecting the switch. For Forester models, the fog light switch and rear window de-icer switch are installed at the left end of the instrument panel while the hazard flasher switch and the rear window defogger switch of the2000 through 2002 are placed at the middle of the dash whereby it would require the center panel to be pulled out as a way of replacing. In the models of 2003 and later, the hazard flasher switch occurs in the central region of the instrument panel; it means that one has to get rid of the central panel to get at it.

    Q:
How do you remove and install Cruise Control Switch,Hazard Warning Switch and Mirror Switch in Subaru Outback? Posted by Customer
    A:
Detach the switch panel and pull it out carefully by prying the cruise control switch, fog light switch, windshield wiper de-icer switch from the instrument panel and disconnecting electrical connectors from the switch, respectively. Take off the cruise control switch, fog light switch or/and windshield wiper de-icer switch on a switch panel. When installing a new one press it into the frontal part of a board's side until snaps into place. The installation is performed in reverse order of removal except that for hazard flasher circuit which requires removing a central console trim panel; taking out center vent assembly by releasing air vent fasteners and disconnecting vent's electrical connector; depressing tabs at back and pushing forward on hazard flasher button to release it; finally snapping it in place during reinstallation. In models 2007 onwards, you will find an illumination brightness control knob, remote mirror toggle or/and windshield wiper de-icer button situated at the far left end of your dash board under Instrument Panel Lower Cover (IP). Remove this cover at its end standing next to dash board. Press on rear side of this front end with your finger so as to push it off while holding onto its sides without using any tools on either end where fasteners are located; then remove two screws securing these halves together along with five more holding bracket down behind them against firewall like surface below driver side floorboard area near gas pedal which provides access holes out through bottom edge toward passenger's seat belt buckle opening above gear shift arm extension bracket they fit onto when installed beneath or near each other depending upon their position relative to one another--again use some kind of leverage such as small flat head screwdriver blade etc., just be sure not to break plastic clips holding everything together tightly because once those have been snapped back in place after removing screws mentioned above one could inadvertently damage surrounding structure trying pry too hard against it later if needed after reinstalling these plugs where they belong. Remove the center trim panel over by driver's side, and unplug connector from back of hazard flasher switch. Release all clips on rear face of this housing as well but remember that it is possible to see out bottom opening where tab goes through hole into top part because just like its counterpart there are no screws holding anything together around edges themselves; instead these parts simply snap together such that when pried apart one can tell how they fit into each other before reassembling them properly again like before while ensuring not break any more plastic along way which might require starting completely afresh during process.
