To replace the front brake pads, depress the piston(s) into the caliper using a C-clamp to create space for the new pads. Then, remove the lower caliper bolt (on the lower pin) and swing the caliper up for access to the brake pads. If detaching the caliper completely, remove both caliper bolts but avoid letting the caliper hang by the brake hose. Remove the outer brake pad and shims, followed by the inner brake pad and shims, also removing the lower and upper anti-rattle clips, inspecting and cleaning them for re-use or replacement if damaged. Ensure proper lubrication of the guide and lock pins with high-temperature grease. Apply anti-squeal compound to the backing plates of the new pads and assemble them with the shims. Slide the caliper back onto the guide pin, if removed, and pivot it down over the new pads, then install and tighten the caliper bolt.
