Thanks for getting in touch. First I'd like to thank you for pointing that out, because the website is actually backwards. E231SAG300 is the deflector that fits Outback wagons, and Legacy sedans have an entirely different number. So I will have to get that corrected. Second, the answer to your question is a little complicated but I'm happy to give you the information that I have. The E231SAG300 deflector WILL physically fit your car (provided it's a wagon body style, which sounds like it is). However, the Outback XT is a turbo model and the turbo models weren't technically designed for hood deflectors, because when you put the hood deflector on the car, it scoops the air up and over the hood scoop, which means the air going in to your inter cooler won't be as cold as it is without the air deflector. Technically speaking, warmer air going into the inter cooler will drop performance from the turbo, mainly a change in horsepower provided by the turbo itself. While that is the case, we're only talking a miniscule amount of change; probably only a 1-5 horsepower drop. So if you're trying to get absolute best performance out of your engine/turbo, Subaru never designed a hood deflector for these turbo models, and doesn't recommend putting one on. However, if a possible loss of a few horsepower is inconsequential to you, then the E231SAG300 will fit your car.
