Subaru Impreza Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you remove and install a door handle,Lock Cylinder and latch assembly on Subaru Impreza?
A: Raise up the window and then proceed to getting rid of the door trim panel as well as watershield. Afterward, detach the actuating rods or cables between the inside door handle and the latch assembly, then remove the door handle retaining screws. Pull off on the handle so that it becomes removed from its position in a vehicle. Installation can be done by following removal procedure upside down. Through hole in access at inside of door disengage actuating rods from outside door handle and Door Lock Cylinder. Remove outside handle retain nuts then take it out of the door. Installation is reverse of removal process. Remove screw cover at end of door, loose bit with torx through hole, unhook rod clamp from handle and lock cylinder, pull rods out from handle and lock cylinder. Remove lock cylinder; move the handle towards rear part of a door while pulling forward parts outwardly. Take outer side spacer off outside surface of a door. Having accessed opening into internal part of a door, remove Torx bit facing front of a bar after which remove assembly that has a turner pin attached to it. Installation is opposite to removal. Unclip actuating rod from Door Lock Cylinder. Remove bolt for mounting Door Lock Cylinder and take out cylinder. Use an appropriate device to get off screw cover found at end part of your car's entrance and release Torx bits through such holes. The clip for locking bars must be detached away from arm that holds a keyhole; this step is performed by demounting rods. Door Lock Cylinder should not remain on your hand but taken out completely. It means you have to go back in time. Separate internal handles' operating sticks from lugs. Getting through inside aperture unclasp exterior handles hooked onto lugs as well as linkages which connect latches with "tumblers" in their bodies. Remove three latch retaining screws before detaching them. Installation is the reverse of removal.
