Subaru Idle Control Valve

The idle control valve is used to charge and keep a consistent engine idle speed. The valve helps counter anything the driver may do to put extra load on the engine, like turn on the A/C, sound system, light, etc. The idle control valve helps the engine start when the car is cold. It is common for the idle control valve to fail since there are excessive carbon buildups in the intake manifold.
